Is using a VPN legal in the UK?

Yes. The Metropolitan Police have publicly confirmed that using a VPN is not against UK law. The Online Safety Act regulates what platforms must do for under-18 users; it does not restrict adults from accessing the web through a non-UK IP.

How fast is it from London?

Typical RTT: +10-20 ms vs direct. We use Hetzner bare-metal in Frankfurt / Helsinki / Amsterdam / Dublin, running Hysteria2. iPlayer / Netflix / DAZN / 4oD all stream at 1080p without buffering on a 50 Mbps line.

Which streaming services work?

BBC iPlayer (when you have a UK IP via split-routing), Channel 4, Netflix UK and EU catalogues, DAZN, Prime Video. Live sport is the primary stress test and stays smooth.

What is the Premium plan and what does back-to-China access add?

Premium adds a second mode that routes Chinese-mainland traffic through residential IPs in CN — for iQiyi / Tencent Video / Bilibili / WeChat / 国服 gaming. It is the only plan with this capability and is aimed at Chinese students and expats living in the UK who need both directions.

How long does the activation code take to arrive?

Usually within 30 seconds in the email you provided at checkout. If nothing arrives within 10 minutes, check spam or contact support@astrumvpn.com.

How do I pay?

Card (Visa / Mastercard / Amex) via Stripe; Alipay is supported for Chinese-issued accounts. Billed in GBP for UK customers, USD for everyone else.

Which devices are supported?

iOS 16+, Android 7+, Windows 10+, macOS 12+, Linux (.deb / .AppImage). One account, unlimited devices. Third-party sing-box clients (Hiddify, Clash Verge Rev) also work — paste the subscription URL.

Is there a student discount?

Yes — 30% off automatically at checkout for any .ac.uk or .edu email. Stacks with annual pricing.

What is your refund policy?

7-day money-back on first-time purchases. Email support@astrumvpn.com within 7 days; refund issued via your original payment method within 5 business days.

Do you keep logs?

No. No traffic content, no DNS queries, no source IPs, no destinations. Edge nodes run sing-box on RAM-only filesystems with rsyslog disabled. The only data we hold is account email, billing record (required by HMRC), and aggregate byte counters per account.

What if I run out of traffic?

Buy another activation code at the same tier (it stacks with your current one), or upgrade to a higher tier.
